About Playbook
Playbook® is building the Operating Memory for regulated industries.
In life sciences and other highly regulated sectors, companies run on thousands of written procedures — SOPs, work instructions, policies, manuals, and how-to guides. Employees are expected to find, understand, follow, and stay trained on the right procedure at the right moment. That system is breaking under the weight of information overload.
Playbook® turns procedural documents into structured, usable data — making critical operational knowledge consumable by humans, software systems, and AI agents. This living layer of procedural knowledge is what we call Operating Memory.
We work with leading global life sciences companies and are building the foundational data model for procedural knowledge in regulated industries. We're an early-stage, founder-led company with high ambition, high standards, and a strong bias toward execution.
Why now
AI agents can't run on tribal knowledge. They have to operate from the same approved procedures, controls, and traceability as the people beside them.
The Role
We're looking for our first Brand & Field Marketing Lead who can make Playbook visible, trusted, and relevant in the pharma and life sciences quality ecosystem, starting from scratch. This is not a strategy role. We need a Marketing Lead with a founder's mindset who executes immediately, showing up at the right conferences, getting Playbook into the right conversations, turning founder ideas into compelling content, and building real presence in a niche B2B market.
You will report to and work directly with the CEO/Co-Founder and our Enterprise Sales team, take raw input — customer insights, product narratives, market trends — and turn it into high quality visible market activity fast. You will own the function from day one, build the voice, stand up the channels, and create the systems.
What You'll Own
Define and own Playbook®'s brand positioning and messaging, making our solution Operating Memory as a new category of software compelling and building a clear, distinctive point of view in the pharma / life sciences / quality ecosystem.
Build and lead a content programme through webinars, expert sessions, conferences, podcasts, newsletters, and panels; placing Playbook as a trusted voice in key industry conversations.
Build relationships with industry associations, expert communities, consultants, and partner networks.
Translate ideas, customer insights, and product stories into high-impact content across LinkedIn, newsletters, articles, and marketing campaigns.
Develop and execute innovative and resourceful marketing campaigns that amplify brand presence across key markets, driving meaningful visibility without reliance on large budgets.
Create compelling sales enablement materials — pitch decks, one-pagers, USPs, and objection-handling guides — that support enterprise conversations and accelerate complex deals.
Own marketing operations including CRM alignment, automation, attribution, and analytics, defining KPIs and using performance insights to continuously optimise and scale growth.
Life sciences manufacturing — We work with leading global life sciences companies, where procedures define outcomes.
What You Bring
Proven experience of min 3 years in building brand presence and market visibility in a niche B2B category, ideally SaaS, healthcare, or another regulated space.
Startup or scale-up experience: you have built things from scratch and are comfortable with ambiguity and pace.
Strong execution instinct: you act without waiting for perfect strategy, perfect assets, or a large team.
Exceptional storyteller: who crafts compelling narratives that build brand credibility, engage enterprise buyers, and drive pipeline growth.
Strong execution and analytical acumen: comfortable running multiple programmes at once, using data to prioritise, and working closely with cross-functional teams.
Fluent in English. German is an advantage.
Probably Not a Fit
This role likely isn't for you if you…
Are a pure brand strategist who wants months to build positioning frameworks before executing.
Are a corporate marketer accustomed to large budgets, large teams, and slow approval processes.
Are a demand generation specialist who only thinks in paid ads and MQL funnels.
Need constant direction or are uncomfortable with imperfect assets and fast iteration.
Are a consultant who can advise but does not want to own execution end-to-end.
